Extension and Engagement Certificates
The Extension and Engagement Certificates are designed for students interested in education, outreach and working with people and communities beyond traditional classroom settings. The curriculum explores how people learn through programs, workshops, organizations, youth development and other non-formal educational experiences.
Through the undergraduate and graduate certificates, students gain skills in community engagement and outreach while learning how to connect people and communities with knowledge, resources and opportunities.
The 18-credit curriculum combines coursework and applied learning experiences to help students develop skills in education, outreach, community engagement and non-formal learning. This certificate can be completed online or in-person.
Applied Learning Experiences
Gain hands-on experience through field-based learning, practicums, research and K-State Extension opportunities. Students can apply their learning through activities in agricultural education, agricultural-related occupations, research and Extension.
Elective Coursework
Explore topics related to education, technology, human development and community engagement. Courses may include New Media Technology, Educational Technology, Human Development, Rural Community Health and Natural Resource-Based Tourism.
