Each weekday Shelby produces an agricultural radio program called Agriculture Today, the 30-minute, daily program is comprised of three segments. The interviews for the segments are done with agriculture specialists as they discuss topics that could have an impact on Kansas agriculture producers. It is her responsibility to find the topics and specialists as well as conduct and edit the interviews.

Shelby was first introduced to Agriculture Today when she interned here from May 2021 to May 2022. Shelby began sharing agriculture in a way she didn’t see herself doing but fell in love with it. After the completion of the internship, she began interning with Kansas Farm Bureau as a communications intern where she got to continue interviewing people in and around agriculture and exploring different paths of communications. Then in April 2023, the opportunity to return to Agriculture Today was presented to me and she took it.
