Pat writes and edits news and feature articles that are distributed to media in Kansas and the surrounding region. In recent years, he has focused on writing articles about research by K-State Research and Extension scientists, interpreting complex findings for a reading public. He is also a regular contributor to the College of Agricuture’s AgReport magazine, and Kansas State University’s SEEK magazine.

Prior to this position, Pat was the Public Information Officer at Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado. Before that, he was the Managing Editor for the Valley Courier, also in Alamosa. In 2020, Pat published his first book, a biography on a track and field coach whose path to the pinnacle of Olympic glory began in a poor, rural southern Colorado town.
