Jason is the department head for Communications and Agricultural Education, which offers bachelor’s degrees in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Communications and Journalism; a master’s degree in Agricultural Education and Communication; and is a founding department in the interdisciplinary Leadership Communication doctoral program. In addition, the department provides communications support for the College of Agriculture and K-State Research and Extension and operates the University Printing facility. Jason still teaches and advises students for undergraduate and graduate programs in agricultural communications and journalism and he conducts and disseminates communications research through an appointment with the Kansas State University Agricultural Experiment Station. Jason was formerly an assistant professor of agricultural journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a food safety extension specialist at Iowa State University.
