Lauri teaches courses in new media technologies, business communication, environmental communications, and communication theory. She also advises undergraduate and graduate students. Her research and grant work are focused on agenda-setting, new and social media, teaching, decision-making, public policy, and climate-science discourse. She is a co-founder of the Center for Rural Enterprise Engagement and the graduate program coordinator for the Department of Communications and Agricultural Education.
Lauri is co-adviser of the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow and the department graduate student association.
